John and Ann Clendenin, Benefactors

Retired Bell South chairman and chief executive John Clendenin, his wife Ann (who passed away in March) and their children endowed the Clendenin Graduate Fellows Program in June 2008. It has been Clendenin’s long-held desire to make a contribution to graduate education. He was unable to afford graduate school while working and supporting a young family upon graduating from Northwestern University. Now Clendenin has the opportunity to influence the life of future graduates with the Clendenin Graduate Fellows Program, which supports outstanding graduate students who are willing to give back to the university.
