Previous Projects and Awards:
- The KSU Chapter was awarded the Key Chapter Award at the 2004 Golden Key
Internation Convention.
- The KSU Chapter was awarded the KSU Organization of the Year for Honor Society
2003-2004.
- The KSU Chapter was awarded the Founder's Award at the 1998 Golden Key
International Convention.
- The KSU Chapter received the Key Chapter Award for 2000 and the Key Chapter
Honorable Mention for 2001.
- The KSU Chapter was awarded "Best Service Project" for their work with the
Deveroux kids, as well as the first Regional Student Representative Appreciation
Award at the 1999 Regional Conference.
- The Southeastern Regional Director of the Golden Key National Honor Society
has described the KSU Chapter as "Outstanding", in appreciation
for the many efforts of KSU Golden Key students. KSU students are helping
Golden Key become a meaningful and influential leader in community service
around Atlanta.
- In 1997, the Kennesaw State University Golden Key Chapter celebrated ten
years as an active part of student life at KSU, and continues in 1998 to expand
upon its successes.
- KSU's Golden Key Chapter is the largest honor society on campus, and certainly
one of the most active. In addition, Golden Key members are leaders in all
of our student clubs and organization.
- In 1992, the Golden Key chapter was named the "Most Outstanding
Organization" at Kennesaw State, out of over 70 student organizations.
In 1997, out of over 90 student organizations, Golden Key won this award again!
The chapter advisor also received the "Most Outstanding Advisor"
award in 1992.
- In 1997, the Golden Key Chapter won for "Most Outstanding Service
Project" at the SGA Awards for our work with the Safepath Child Advocacy
Center.
- In 1994-95, Golden Key received the "Most Outstanding Honor Society"
award at the Student Government Association awards ceremony.
- The KSU chapter has received six Key Chapter Awards at Golden
Key national conventions. Key Chapter awards recognize the most active and
successful chapters throughout the country. The latest award was received
at the 1997 International Convention held in Atlanta.
- The International Convention in Atlanta featured the KSU Chapter serving
as one of the Host Chapters. Our chapter was heavily involved in the
planning, organization, and implementation of many of the events at this Convention.
- KSU Chapter Faculty Advisors Dr. Mattox and Dr. King were named "Southeastern
Region Advisors of the Year" at the 1996-97 Regional Conference.
- Golden Key students were instrumental in establishing a peer advisor program
at Kennesaw State, which has been extremely successful for eight years.
- KSU's Golden Key chapter has presented the "Best of America"
program to literally thousands of Cobb County students in elementary, middle,
and high schools for the past six years.
- In 1991, the Golden Key chapter was recognized for its positive contribution
to KSU students with the publication of a brochure, "How to Succeed in
College", written and produced by Golden Key students and made available
to all Kennesaw students.
- Golden Key participated in planning and implementing the first annual Honors
Week celebration at KSU in 1994, and has remained an instrumental part
of the organization of this event since that time..
- KSU students have presented programs at numerous regional conferences and
many of the international Golden Key conventions.
- Kennesaw State hosted a very successful regional conference for the southeast
in 1992.
