[ Service ]

Omega Phi Alpha is a service sorority, which means that service is our main focus and what drives our daily activities as an organization. Nationally, Omega Phi Alpha chapters focus on six areas of service:

University community - Service which benefits KSU, its students, faculty, staff, and campus

Community-at-large - Service which benefits the local area, including Kennesaw and Atlanta, and any local causes

Members of the sorority - Service which benefits our sisters, both in the local chapter or elsewhere

Nations of the world - Service which benefits "universal" causes that affect people everywhere, such as world hunger, AIDS, cancer, etc. Alpha Zeta also has an ongoing relationship with a group of soldiers in Iraq that falls under the nations category.

National permanent project - The national permanent project is mental health, which is defined as any project that improves another's state of mind. Alpha Zeta has raised money for autism awareness and played bingo at a nursing home, among other projects.

National President's project - Each year, Omega Phi Alpha's National President chooses a cause that every chapter nationwide will work towards during the school year. For 2007-2008, the president's project is domestic violence awareness.
