Women's Health

What we do:
Provide preventative care and diagnose and treat general health concerns related to women’s health issues:

    • Annual Women’s Health Exams
    • Birth Control
    • “Peace of mind” STD testing

Please call (770) 423-6644 and choose option #2 to make an appointment at the House #52 Appointment Clinic for a gynecologic exam.  We will ask for a telephone number and a KSU ID# to book the appointment. After setting up an appointment, please go to your Owl Express Account to fill out the preliminary women’s health questionnaire.

Hormonal Contraceptive Information:
Many women get prescriptions for hormonal contraceptives through the KSU Student Health Services.  It is important to understand that these contraceptives, though highly effective, are not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy.  Also, there are some rare but important risks that may be associated with hormonal contraceptive use. These include risk of stroke, heart attack, blood clots, high blood pressure, thrombophlebitis, migraine headaches, liver tumors, gall bladder disease, and diabetes. Since smoking may increase some of these risks, women who are taking hormonal contraceptives are advised strongly not to smoke.

Allergy Alert:
For the comfort and safety of others, please do not wear perfume or cologne to your appointment.

Fees:
There is a base charge of $65.00 for this type of visit. The provider will discuss any additional fees and charges at the time of the visit.

Student Health Fees pay for clinic visits without a copay charge. Any fees incurred from tests, injections, or medication will be billed to the patient’s Owl Express account and must be paid through the Bursar's office within 30 days.

We do not file insurance claims or provide medical codes to insurance companies. We are considered an "out of network" provider; costs incurred with KSU Student Health Services typically are not reimbursed.

KSU Health Services appointments are in high demand. For this reason, the clinic has instituted a $25.00 no-show fee for students more than fifteen minutes late to their appointments. To cancel an appointment, please call 24 hours in advance so that we can reallocate that time to another student.
