M.S. in Applied Exercise and Health Science
The M.S. in Applied Exercise and Health Science prepares graduate students
to engage in a variety of leadership positions in the increasingly challenging
health and fitness field. The anticipated start date is Fall 2008. For

in Exercise and Health Science
The Exercise and Health Science major program is designed
for students seeking academic preparation in the exercise, fitness and/or
health areas. This program of study prepares students to become leaders
in the fitness profession, and to organize and deliver health promotion
programs in private, public, or corporate wellness environments. The
capstone to the program is a one academic semester internship experience
working in an exercise and health science setting, or students can select
pre-professional elective coursework to prepare for advanced or graduate
studies, e.g., physical therapy, exercise physiology. Program of study:

in Health and Physical Education (Teacher Education P-12)
The Health and Physical Education major is designed to prepare
students with teacher licensure in grades P-12. Course work in the discipline
based core, professional skills and professional education provide students

The student will be able to:
1. Utilize effective principles of instruction to facilitate the learning
of all children.
2. Determine levels of performance through assessment and use the information
for improved teaching and learning.
3. Apply principles from the behavioral and movement sciences to lesson
preparation and implementation.

to strengthen the effectiveness and quality of teaching.

The Sport Management major is designed for students seeking
academic preparation in the business aspects of sport. Within Sport
Management students can chose to concentrate in Fitness Management,
Sport Communication,
