  1. Student Clinical Orientation Checklist – complete and email to Becky Shabo @ rshabo@kennesaw.edu 
  2. Clinical Instructors must schedule an appointment with Staci Pendley , HR Administrator @ 404-785-7810 two weeks before first day of clinical to request a specific number of student badges for clinical group.  Badges will grant access to basic hospital/department doors and parking decks (employee entrance/exit).

  3. All instructors must have a Background Check & Drug Screening through Advantage www.advantagestudents.com The fee for this service is $97.00. Select Children Health Care of Atlanta (CHOA) to view your results.  Background Check & Drug Screening must be completed at least two weeks before the first day of clinical.   Forward e-mailed Advantage payment receipt to llongeir@kennesaw.edu for reimbursement. 
  4. Must have flu vaccine for current flu season.  Fall semester flu documentation must be submitted by 2nd Friday in October  -  Spring Semester flu documentation must be submitted two weeks before first clinical start date to room HS 3004 or email .

 

Core Orientation Materials

 

1.        These modules are considered self-directed learning and accompany the “Pre-Clinical Orientation Checklist.”  Answer sheets are provided for modules that have pre/post assessment tests. 

 

 

 

Instructors new to Children’s or who have not served as a Children’s clinical instructor/employee within the past 12 months must attend Patient Care Provider Orientation.  CHOA technical training team is once again able to offer the 1-day Epic training for new incoming instructors.  If a new instructor is unable to attend the 1-day Epic Training they will have to be placed in the regular RN track, which is 3 days of class.

 

To register, please email Becky Shabo @ rshabo@kennesaw.edu the following information:

  • Full name (including middle initial)
  • Last 4 digits of social
  • Birth date in mm/dd/yyyy format
  • Epic class date choice
  • PCPO class date choice

Returning instructors must contact IS&T helpdesk (404-785-6767) to check on the status of their NT and Epic Log-in accounts.  The accounts need to be active in order for them to use the system.  If there are any issues with the account, then the instructor needs to contact Becky Shabo @ rshabo@kennesaw.edu to follow up on your behalf (I cannot do the first check since it involves passwords).  Please provide in your e-mail the following information to facilitate account reactivation:

  • Full name (including middle initial)
  • Last 4 digits of social
  • Birth date in mm/dd/yyyy format
  • Login username
