Julie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is the Field Education Coordinator for the MSW program at Kennesaw State University. Her passion is helping children, as well as their families, increase their emotional wellbeing. Prior to joining the faculty at KSU, Julie was a Mental Health Therapist and a School Social Worker for Cobb County Schools for eight years. She began her career as a Medical Social Worker at Grady Memorial Hospital, providing social support and discharge planning to patients. She continued in the medical arena working children and their families in both Pediatric and Neonatal medical units. Additionally, she worked as an ER Social Worker for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. She received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Appalachian State University, a Master of Social Work degree from Alabama A&M University, and is currently taking post-graduate classes from the Institute for Clinical Social Work in pursuit of a Ph.D.
