Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Prepare a sweet Valentine’s Day treat for your friends and family! Ounce for ounce, strawberries have more vitamin C than citrus fruits. Their sweet flavor compliments bittersweet chocolate, which contains less sugar and milk than milk chocolate.
Ingredients:
Parchment paper
4 oz. bittersweet chocolate
12 fresh strawberries, rinsed and dried
- Cover a cookie sheet or plate with parchment paper.
- Melt chocolate in a microwave- safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds to prevent scorching. Or, cook over low heat, stirring constantly.
- Holding the leafy end, dip strawberries into the chocolate. Lift and twist slightly, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
- Place strawberries on the parchment paper. Allow to cool for 30 minutes. Enjoy!
Optional: Melt 2 oz. of white chocolate and use a fork to drizzle over coated strawberries before drying.
