Recipe of the Month – January


Pita Pizza

Get creative with these easy personal pizzas! Involve everyone by putting out toppings and letting friends and family decorate their own pies. By using different cheeses, vegetables, and even fruits (pineapple!), you’ll never tire of this dish!

1 whole wheat pita round
3 Tbsp. tomato sauce
Chopped vegetables (such as bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, sautéed spinach, etc.)
¼ cup mozzarella cheese (reduced fat if available)
Dried basil and oregano

  1. Top pita bread with tomato sauce and vegetable toppings.
  2. Sprinkle on mozzarella cheese, oregano, and basil.
  3. Place pita on a baking sheet and heat under the broiler for 5-7 minutes until cheese melts.

Out of pita bread? Whole wheat tortillas also work well!
