Attention COM Seniors!

COM Seniors,

We are happy to report that the UPCC approved our Change in Major request at its meeting this afternoon. This Change in Major opens up the following OPTIONS for COM seniors:

As a Public Relations student, you now have the OPTION to take COM 4465 Public Relations Campaigns as your capstone experience instead of COM 4499 Senior Thesis. This will require that you have successfully completed all prerequisites for COM 4465 as well as COM 4499. You must also add one of the following COM electives in place of Senior Thesis: COM 3330 Public Relations Writing, COM 4405 Organizational Publications, or COM 4429 Persuasion Methods and Strategy. If you have already taken COM 4465 at Kennesaw State University, it will count as your capstone experience as long as you take another COM elective other than COM 3398 Internships in place of Senior Thesis.

As an Organizational Communication student, you now have the OPTION to take COM 4455 Organizational Communication Assessments as your capstone experience instead of COM 4499 Senior Thesis. This will require that you have successfully completed all prerequisites for COM 4455 as well as COM 4499. You must also add a COM elective other than COM 3398 Internships in place of Senior Thesis. If you have already taken COM 4455 at KSU, it will count as your capstone experience as long as you take another COM elective other than COM 3398 Internships in place of Senior Thesis.

As a Media Studies student, you will be required to take COM 4499 Senior Thesis as your capstone experience (no change).

Students, please be aware that COM 4455 and COM 4465 are each set to a class size of zero, which means that seniors who chose to take those courses as a capstone will have to submit an online override request (available at www.kennesaw.edu/communication) to get in.

Before submitting an online override request for COM 4455 or COM 4465, please make sure you have petitioned to graduate through the Registrar's Office.
