If you are a prospective communication student, we are especially pleased that you are here. We urge you to use this website to discover what we are about and what we can offer you. You can use this site to contact us to ask questions. For an application, please contact the Office of Admissions.

We are one of Kennesaw State University's largest departments, with more than 800 majors. Our majors choose to specialize in one of four program concentrations: Media Studies, Organizational Communication, Public Relations or Journalism and Citizen Media.

Quickly evolving communication techniques, technology and institutions are redefining today's society. They affect our lifestyles as well as our economy and politics. Our department keeps pace with evolving knowledge, skills and applications, even as we root our courses in the solid theoretical perspective afforded by the liberal arts.

Our courses emphasize projects that prepare our majors to translate knowledge and skills from the classroom to applied activities in which they may seek to make their mark. Our faculty are proud of developing challenging courses that capitalize on our location in one of the world's premier communication markets. The Atlanta region, a media hub and the economic powerhouse of the South, provides a useful laboratory into which students can extend their classroom experiences.
