Jake McNeill joined the KSU Department of Communication in August of 2005. Throughout this time, McNeill has served on the OWL Radio Operations Committee, seeing the podcasted station sign on in the spring of 2007. McNeill’s own on-air radio career has seen everything from giving away cars in Missouri to covering award shows in Los Angeles. He also worked in one of the BBC’s smallest radio studios, located in Canterbury, Kent. In 2004, McNeill was awarded the Silver Dome by the Illinois Broadcaster’s Association for his on-air and production work.

Although his main production interests today are in video art and still photography, he continues to do commercial work in audio production. He worked as Audio Post Production Editor on the 2006 film “Sophisticated Romance”, which was awarded “Best Feature-Length Drama” at the 2007 Sweet Auburn International Film Festival. The project was edited using Adobe Audition. He is also engaged in research with the A.L. Burruss Institute and the Center for Conflict Management to produce and edit a documentary addressing the civil legal needs of the citizens of Georgia.

Prof. McNeill is trained in Avid and Final Cut and teaches a wide variety of Digital Media Production courses including Video Editing Technique and Theory, Fundamentals of Digital Media Production, Audio for Video, Audio Production, Videography and Digital Photography. He also serves on the Department of Communication’s Digital Media Lab Committee.

He has previously taught Digital Media Production at The Art Institute of Atlanta.
