Finally, Atlanta has a comprehensive certificate program for professional technical writers. Continuing Education at Kennesaw State University is proud to introduce the Technical Writing Certificate, Basic and Advanced levels, for technical writers who want to expand and validate their expertise.

Students in the project-oriented Basic level course produce portfolio pieces demonstrating skills in design principles, styles and formatting, raster graphics, information organization, vector graphics in online documents, Adobe Acrobat, PagePlus and FrameMaker. Students will receive 6 books and 2 software packages as part of the course.

Students in the project-oriented Advanced level course produce portfolio pieces demonstrating skills in persuasive communication, assembly / operations / technical manuals, RoboHelp or Flare, desktop editing, picture editing, and vector graphic editing software. Advanced course price includes desktop editing, picture editing, and vector graphic editing software.

Test Out Information

It is possible to test out of the Basic level certificate program to meet the prerequisites of the Advanced level program. The cost to test out is non-refundable, however the test prep course fee will be applied towards the Advanced course.

You must receive a score of at least 62.5% on the 116 (true / false and multiple choice) question exam to pass.
