About the Center for Conflict Management
The Center provides intervention into conflict situations for constituencies outside Kennesaw State University, conducts training in conflict management skills for external and internal populations, conducts conflict-related research, and provides educational programs on related issues.
Rather than providing a cookie-cutter approach, the Center tailors the content and approach to each intervention or training to meet the needs of its clients and the dictates of the situation. Past clients of the Center have included for-profit companies, non-profit agencies, and government agencies. For example, the Center has worked with both the Atlanta chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Georgia Department of Education to conduct continuing education programs. The Center strives to provide assistance to non-profits at no or low cost.
The Center is a self-sustaining unit housed in the Department of Political Science and International Affairs in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Kennesaw State University. The Center complements the Master of Science in Conflict Management program at KSU, by providing internship opportunities to MSCM students and alumni.
