Whether you're facing a complex problem, need to make a difficult decision, or want to reform a hostile work environment, the Center can help.
Every organization and dispute is unique, which is why we don't believe in "off the rack" solutions. Every intervention is individually designed after a detailed needs assessment.
Our intervention services include facilitation, conflict coaching, and community mediation. Center staff are also experienced in appreciative inquiry and other conflict management techniques. We strive to meet clients' needs, while providing effective, ethical conflict resolution services.
The Center Intervention Process
• Detailed Needs Assessment- Our first step in any conflict situation is an individual consultation with the individual(s) requesting our services. During this consultation we will determine if the dispute is a situation the Center can assist with. If so, we will then conduct a more formal needs assessment that may include interviews with disputants, surveys, or other evaluation instruments.
• Recommend a Dispute Resolution Program- The information gathered during the Needs Assessment is used to determine the best way to approach the dispute. This recommendation will be reviewed with the individual(s) requesting our services and refined as needed.
• Conduct Intervention- Interventions vary widely in scope, the number of people involved, and timeframes. For example, an intervention for a workplace facing long-standing divisions might include individual mediations and facilitation of a group meeting.
• Review Results- It is our standard practice to conduct an evaluation at the conclusion of an intervention to assess the client's satisfaction.
• Follow-up- Conflicts don't develop overnight and can take time to resolve. If necessary, the Center is available to provide follow-up. This may also include services such as training in communication skills or conflict coaching.
