While her primary fields of interest include international, environmental and public policy conflicts, Professor Raines is interested in conflict management at all levels. She regularly mediates commercial and domestic relations court-connected cases, facilitates public meetings, facilitates long-term governmental decision-making processes, and designs conflict management interventions for corporate enterprises. In 2007 she was appointed Editor-in Chief of Conflict Resolution Quarterly. Professor Raines frequently presents her work at both national and international conferences and in a variety of academic and practitioner journals.  In addition to her academic pursuits, she has designed ADR programs for numerous state agencies in Indiana, trained managers with the United Nations and arbitrators with the European Union, trained judges and attorneys inside and outside of Georgia, evaluated Florida’s mediation training requirements, and has participated in the evaluation of the United States Postal Service’s REDRESS Program. Currently, she is writing two books: One on “Conflict Management for Managers” and one related to “Benchmarking Mediation” (with Jean Poitras).

Registration with GODR as a domestic relations mediators prior to taking specialized domestic violence mediation training. Rules specify this training is for ‘experienced’ domestic relations mediators.


This 14 hour workshop focuses on divorce and custody cases with specialization in domestic violence, with role plays for screening and safety planning

The fact that a training program has been approved by the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution does not imply that any particular court-annexed or court referred program must or will accept as neutrals those who have completed that program. Trainees have 18 months from the last date of training to apply for registration with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution or the training expires.Please visit to read these rules thoroughly.
