International Arbitration Training for Nigerian Judges and Attorneys

The arbitration training is for those who want to serve as arbitrators, as well as for those who want to have a better understanding of how the arbitration process works. You will learn how to conduct an arbitration and how to draft arbitration awards. It will include presentations on the laws and ethical rules relating to arbitration internationally and in Nigeria in particular. This course will be held at Kennesaw State University from August 11-15, 2013. Registration is $2,499.

Patricia A. Suita, Esq.,President ADR Training Division Henning Mediation & Arbitration Service, Inc.

Pat Siuta is an attorney and former law professor with 20 years of experience as an arbitrator and mediator. She has trained thousands of lawyers, judges, and other professionals in arbitration, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution. Pat Siuta has arbitrated or mediated disputes involving personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, insurance, premises liability, commercial matters, contracts, construction, employment, environmental issues, intellectual property, professional liability, probate, real estate, divorce, and family law matters. She is President of American Mediators, LLC, and President of the Training & Consulting Division of Henning Mediation & Arbitration Service, Inc. Pat is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.

Timothy Hedeen

Dr. Timothy Hedeen, Professor of Conflict Management

Timothy Hedeen is Professor of Conflict Management at Kennesaw State University. He provides mediation services through court and private programs, delivers trainings in the areas of conflict resolution and communication, facilitates group and public policy decision making and planning, and conducts research and evaluation on dispute resolution and justice policy.
He serves on the editorial boards of Conflict Resolution Quarterly and Family Court Review, as associates liaison to the Section Council of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution, and is a past chair of the Board of Directors of the National Association for Community Mediation. He is a senior consultant to the Consortium for Appropriate Dispute Resolution in Special Education and an appointed member of the Georgia Supreme Court's Commission on Dispute Resolution.

Rosezetta

 

Ms. Rosezetta Bobo, Director ADR Services and Trainings

Rosezetta Bobo is the Director of Alternative Dispute Resolution at Kennesaw State University. Ms. Bobo's career expands over twenty years in the areas of dispute resolution, communication, diversity, mediation, arbitration, teaching, training and facilitation.  Ms. Bobo spent nine years with the Florida Supreme Court in the Dispute Resolution Center and as an Adjunct Professor of Criminology in the State University Center for seven years.   She is a Florida Supreme Court certified county, dependency and family mediator and also has specialization and certifications in Restorative Justice and Diversity.   She has worked with numerous states throughout the U.S. and internationally, she has done work in Belize, Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Ghana.

REGISTRATION AND FEES
The registration deadline is July 5, 2013. The first 3 people to register will receive a prize.

The total cost for the International Arbitration Training is $2,499. Payment is due at the time of registration. The registration fee includes:

  * Hotel Accommodations for 4 nights (August 11-15, 2013)
  * Breakfast at the hotel August 12-15, 2013
  * Lunch August 12-14, 2013.
  * One dinner with local conflict resolution professionals.
  * Airport pick-up and drop-off
  * Transportation to/from course activities
 

* Textbooks and all training materials.

 


Participants are responsible for booking their own air transportation. Ground transportation to/from the Atlanta airport will be provided. The Center for Conflict Management will provide letters of invitation, but participants are responsible for the visa process and fees. If you have special needs, please contact us by July 26, 2013.

Cancellations before Friday, July 26, 2013 will receive a full refund. Cancellations between July 26, 2013 and August 7, 2013 will be assessed a $300 administrative fee. No refunds for cancellations after August 7, 2013. To cancel your registration, email swill344@kennesaw.edu.
