Teaching Program

The Confucius Institute at Kennesaw State University (CIKSU) is one of the largest Confucius Institutes in the United States. CIKSU collaborates with the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, provides Chinese language instruction at public and private pre-K centers throughout the state of Georgia. CIKSU also offers Chinese language and culture classes in elementary, middle, high schools in Cobb, Hall, Dekalb and Bibb counties. Our Chinese language program has quickly become a successful model for early childhood foreign language education in the US.

In the year of 2013, CIKSU has made great progress in Chinese language education program. From 2009 to 2013, the number of classes increased from 7 to 328, and the student enrollment grew from 140 to 7,162. Chinese language programs are also offered online through the Georgia Department of Education’s Georgia Virtual School program. CIKSU has also developed a series of textbooks (online Chinese education) for Georgia Virtual School.
