FAQ

If you do not find the answer to your question here, please click on the link at the bottom of the page and send your question to the Copy/Print manager.

Where can I make copies?
You can use any of the Admin Canon's. These are typically in the office areas around the campus. Student copiers are in the Library, near student labs, and in common areas such as the Student Center and the hallway area of the Science Building.

Can I make copies on a student copier?
You can use your KSU ID if you first put money on the card. You can do that at one of the K-Cash terminals. However, if you use a student copier you will be charged at the student rate of $0.10 for B&W and $0.50 for color copies.

Can I print on a student printer?
No. The system is not set up to allow this.

Why are we charging for copies and printing now?
The use of the Copy/Print Codes enables each department to pay for what it uses. Prior to this most of the cost for these services were unallocated and did not allow the university to maximize the use of its resources.

Why do I have to use a copy code?
This is what enables the system to record the cost of your copies or printing to your organization. You should not share your code with people outside your department.

What if someone else uses my code?
The Copy/Print system records the users identity along with the Copy/Print Code. While the transaction would be charged to your department initially it will show up in the detailed reports and can be re-allocated to that persons department.

What are department cards and who uses them?
Department cards are provided to allow your student assistants to make copies that are charged to your department at admin rates. They may also be used if someone forgets their ID card occasionally. They are not intended to be used for all department copy/print activity. Using your ID card with your copy/print code provides better tracking for the department. These cards are also used, with a specially assigned declining balance account, to support operation of several student computer labs around the campus.

Can I make personal copies with my ID?
University and State policy states that you cannot use University resources for personal use. However, you can go to any of the K-Cash terminals and put money on your declining balance account and use that at the copier to make copies. For personal printing you will also need to have money in your declining balance account and use code 8888 when prompted for your copy/print code in the Copy/Print PopUp Window.
