October 12-17

HAW 2011 at

Kennesaw State University

Homelessness Awareness Week (HAW) at KSU provides an opportunity to learn more about this “invisible” sector in society. The activities, including a conference and a 2 day Sleep-Out, can increase our knowledge and understanding of living without shelter and food, and sometimes living without hope.

Campus partners in this initiative include the Center for Student Leadership (CSL), Adult Learner Programs , Student Life, and the KSU Department of Public Safety. The CSL awards certificates to students who develop and attend the weeklong activities. Faculty, staff, and student groups are invited to develop programs and activities for this event. Community partners include approximately 20 non-profit agencies.

Homelessness Awareness Week at Kennesaw State University takes place October 10-15, 2011. It provides faculty, students, and staff with an opportunity to learn more about this “invisible” and stigmatized sector of society. This website provides information and documents needed to participate during the week of activities.
