In April 2007, the Center for
University Learning offered its first Introduction to Six Sigma
Workshop. As a reference, Six Sigma encompasses a customer-focused
management mind set; a systematic, disciplined approach to problem
solving and implementation; the use of statistical and analytical
tools that assist in decision making for process improvement; and
typically requires both change and project management. This training
series was led by Dr. Victor Kane, Chair of the Department of
Mathematics and Statistics, and his team of Six Sigma Green/Black
Belts.
