KSU Dance Company Auditions WEDNESDAY, February 22, 2013 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Dance Studio I at Chastain Pointe
|
The KSU Dance Company auditions are held during the first week of classes in the fall and spring semesters. Students must wear black dance attire to the audition and bring footwear appropriate for ballet and jazz. Women who are interested in auditioning for ballet repertory should bring pointe shoes. Students are not required to prepare a solo combination for the audition. The audition consists of learning combinations all together and performing in smaller groups of 3-5. Students are encouraged to arrive early to facilitate a personal warm-up and stretch. Audition Schedule:
Audition results are posted outside the dance studio by 2 p.m. on the day following the audition. Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsal schedules are determined according to casting and posted along with the audition results. All dance company rehearsals are scheduled Monday - Thursday between 3:30 - 9 p.m. and on Friday between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Students are required to list weekly availability on the audition form. Students are required to commit to only two weekly rehearsals for each piece once cast. Rehearsal schedules are determined and fixed for the duration of the semester to allow students to plan other school/work commitments. All dance company members are required to attend a MANDATORY company class every FRIDAY from 1- 2:30 p.m. Course Credit: Students accepted into the company are required to register for DANC 2713 (Dance Production) and receive 2 credits per semester for this course. Overrides into the registration system are entered immediately following the scheduled audition. Any additional questions may be directed to Prof. Ivan Pulinkala via e-mail at ipulinka@kennesaw.edu |
