An evening of classical and contemporary dance, featuring the KSU Dance Company. Choreography will include works by Lauri Stallings, Stevan Novakovich, Sandra Parks and Ivan Pulinkala, along with excerpts from the ballet Swan Lake, re-staged by Reiko Kimura.

Dance Canvas is a professional organization started by KSU board member Angela Harris, to promote the talents of new emerging choreographers in the city of Atlanta. The KSU Dance Company will present the work of an outstanding student choreographer, demonstrating our commitment to the development of the next generation of dance artists.
Alabama Dance Festival

The KSU Dance Company will perform a new contemporary work at the Alabama Dance Festival held in Birmingham, AL.

This informal choreography showcase celebrates the creative scholarship of KSU dance majors. Students work intensively for a 3-day period and share their work in an informal studio showing that is open to the public.

American College Dance Festival
March 12-13, 2013
The KSU Dance Company will
adjudicate work at the 2013 Regional American College Dance Festival being hosted at The University of South Florida. The KSU Dance Company has received top honors at this festival, being selected to perform in regional gala concerts in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012. The KSU Dance Company is one of the few collegiate institutions to receive three consecutive national invitations to perform at the Kennedy Center festival in 2008, 2010 and 2012.

Experience a truly comprehensive artistic fusion of DANCE and MUSIC in a performance for Atlanta-area school students. Synergy will feature the Kennesaw State University Dance Company and the KSU Orchestra collaborating to give school students a unique art experience. The content of this program is best suited for middle school and high school students. Packed with energy, creativity and technical virtuosity, this FREE event will provide a cross-disciplinary understanding of the arts.

Summer Arts Intensive
The KSU Summer Dance Intensive provides high school students an opportunity to experience technical and artistic growth in an environment that fosters creativity and learning. Students will study with dance professors at KSU, and experience a variety of dance technique and theoretical courses that are an integral part of dance education at this university. Students will take classes in modern, ballet, African and jazz technique, as well as experience theory classes in dance history and kinesiology. Faculty will set choreographic repertory that will be performed by the students in a concert at the end of the intensive. The Department of Dance at KSU also offers incentive scholarships every year to outstanding students who attend the intensive.

Dance Company Outreach Program
The mission of the KSU Dance Company Outreach Program is to educate school students about concert dance through performance and practical experience. Every year, the KSU Dance Company visits a number of local schools, performing and sharing the experience of concert dance with students. Through personal interaction, students have the ability to discover the creativity of dance and gain an understanding of the demands and scope of a career in dance.
