The Dot Martin
Scholarship Golf Classic
Named for the Co-founder of the KSU Athletic Booster Club
Monday, May 18, 2009
BridgeMill Athletic Club
Canton, Georgia
The
Dot Martin Scholarship Golf Classic is a four-person scramble (best
ball) tournament. Teams can be pre-selected by participants or
individuals will be grouped together into teams by the tournament
committee. Participation in the Dot Martin Classic will assist the
KSU Athletic Department to raise scholarship dollars for student
athletes who compete and win at the highest levels both in the
classroom and on the athletic field. Kennesaw State Athletics has a
proud history of success with 7 Team National Championships and 5
individual national titles and over 100 All American honors.
The Kennesaw State
University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is proud to
announce that the 2008 Dot Martin Scholarship Classic, one of the
primary fundraisers for the Department, was the second-most
successful in the event’s fifteen year history, raising over $36,000
to help fund student-athlete scholarships. Our 125 participants
enjoyed perfect day of golf, including a low round of -22
accomplished by Chicks with Sticks. One of the Classic’s many
highlights included Stephen Grubbs coming within four inches of
sinking the $25,000 putt. We appreciate your support that allows us
to compete and win at the NCAA Division I level of competition. This
support helped propel KSU to three Conference Championships during
the 2007-2008 Season. All student athletes will benefit from the
generous support of the participants, sponsors and volunteers
involved with this great event. Your continuous help and support
allow us to continue this wonderful tradition for many years to
come.
