Welcome to the Professional Teacher Education Unit (PTEU) and the Leland & Clarice C. Bagwell College of Education. The PTEU is the umbrella organization representing over twelve different departments and five colleges which collaborate on the design, delivery, approval and accreditation of all teacher preparation programs. The Dean of the Bagwell College of Education leads the PTEU and provides university-wide coordination for teacher education, working in partnership with the other deans of the university.

URGENT: PROMISE TEACHER AND HOPE TEACHER UPDATE- Click here for more details Dr. Traci Redish and Dr. Jo Williamson, Educational Leadership Department, have been appointed by the ISTE Board President to serve on the ISTE Accreditation and Standards Committee. Traci Redish, Ph.D., an associate professor in the department of Educational Leadership, has been invited by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission to chair a task force developing an instructional technology teaching certificate for Georgia. The new certificate is part of a Georgia initiative designed to strengthen the relationship between teaching fields and increasing student achievement. Project OWL Brings Avatars to the Classroom. Dr. Arlinda Eaton, Dean of the Bagwell College of Education, has been appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to serve on the State Advisory Council on Early Childhood Education and Care. Dr. Arlinda Eaton, Dean of the Bagwell College of Education, has been selected to serve on the Committee on Professional Preparation and Accountability of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE). New Book by H. E. “Doc” Holliday, Ph.D. On December 28, 2009, Rowman Littlefield Education will release two new books co-authored by Dr. Mike Dishman, an associate professor in the Department of Educational Leadership -"Leading Schools During Crisis" and "Educational Records: A Practical Guide for Legal Compliance". Three of Bagwell College of Education Faculty Receiving Awards as Outstanding Faculty at Opening of the University Ceremonies. Dr. Harriet Bessette, Associate Professor of Inclusive Education Was Nominated for 2009-10 KSU Regents’ Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award. KSU graduate named Georgia's 2008 National Milken Educators of the Year. Kathie Wood, KSU graduate student among 10 Finalists for the 2010 Georgia Teacher of the Year.
