ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
FOR NON-DEGREE OPTIONS
CERTIFICATION RENEWAL (NON-DEGREE OPTION)
A non-degree student is an individual who is interested in earning graduate credit, but who is not an applicant for a graduate degree at Kennesaw State University.
Individuals wishing to apply as a non-degree student for certification renewal purposes MUST signify this option on the Graduate Online Application under the Non-Degree option section (please see the link above entitled Admissions Requirements for Non-degree Options).

Kennesaw State University recommends contacting the Georgia Professional Standards Commission at 404-232-2500 or via the web at www.gapsc.com to obtain a letter signifying the number of credit hours needed and/or a list of the courses needed in order to apply for certification in the state of Georgia or to renew your current Georgia Teaching Certificate.

PRE-REQUISITE COURSES (NON-DEGREE OPTION)
A non-degree student is an individual who is interested in earning graduate credit, but who is not an applicant for a graduate degree at Kennesaw State University.
Individuals wishing to apply as a non-degree student to satisfy pre-requisite courses (i.e. MAT in Secondary English or mathematics) MUST signify this option on the Graduate Online Application under the Non-Degree option section (please see the link above entitled Admissions Requirements for Non-degree Options).

TRANSIENT STUDENT
A transient student is a graduate student currently enrolled in another school, wishing to take a course at KSU to count towards their program at their home school.
As a transient student one must:
1.
Fill out a Transient Application Form
2. Obtain and submit a letter documenting that the student is in good academic standing at their respective school. This can be obtained from the Registrar's Office.

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
Degree Requirements
1. An earned baccalaureate degree (or higher, as may be required by individual programs) from an institution accredited in a manner accepted by KSU.
2. Minimum undergraduate grade-point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale; (See specific program requirements).
3. Any specific program requirements, including applicable prerequisites.
4. Permission of the appropriate graduate program director.
Individual degree programs may impose additional or more stringent requirements.
5. No more than nine semester hours taken under the non-degree status may be applied toward a degree program at a subsequent time and then only after the credit is approved and evaluated by the program director at the time of admission to the degree program.
