Students learn more when their parents are actively involved in their child’s education. When parents and teachers collaborate, their alliance sends a powerful message about their expectations, care and support for the student.
Project Bridges is the collaborative effort of Project WINS, the Arc of Georgia and the Georgia PTA. The mission of Project Bridges is to bridge the communication gap between parents and schools as they support children with disabilities. Increasing parental involvement at all levels in the school benefits children.

Project Bridges encourages schools to infuse support for parents within their PTA committees, or by establishing a Special Needs Committee. The Georgia PTA Special Needs brochure offers suggestions for the committees.
