Resources for New Education Majors
TEAC Web site:
The Dr.
William D. Impey Teacher Education Advisement Center (TEAC) Web site contains
"frequently asked questions" for first-year, transfer and second baccalaureate
degree students, information on applying to teacher education, links to
the Registrar's transfer evaluation Web site, GACE
Basic Skills Assessment information and program area contacts.
Education General
Information Sessions:
Representatives
from the Impey Teacher Education Advisement Center (TEAC) will discuss
admission to teacher education, GACE basic skills assessment, and Hope
Promise. Please see Education
General Information Sessions.
New Student Orientations:
Beginning Fall 2005, all first-time, full-time students are required to
attend a new student orientation session. It is strongly recommended that
part-time first-year students and transfer students attend a new student
orientation. Please call CAPS (Counseling, Advising and Program Services
Center) at 770-423-6600 or see www.kennesaw.edu/caps
for information and orientation times. Students who attend the CAPS orientation
may be able to register for classes at orientation. Transfer
students are encouraged to attend an Education General Information Session
and seek advisement prior to the orientation.
Transfer Equivalency
Course Database:
The KSU
Office of the Registrar provides a Web site for transfer students
who want to know whether courses may transfer to KSU. Please see Registrar.
Advisement:
Students interested in Early Childhood Education (P-5), Middle Grades
Education (4-8), and History Education (6-12), and are currently
"Education Undeclared" are advised in the Impey Teacher Education
Advisement Center. If you are a transfer student, please contact TEAC
at 770-423-6105 for an advising appointment after you have received your
transcript evaluation from the KSU Office of the Registrar. Please
see the following for advisement in education programs not advised by
