Question 1: Why do I sort my trash and try to recycle when the custodial staff just throws it all in the same trash bin?

Although it may appear that the trash and recyclables are being disposed of in the same manner this is not true. The custodial staffs have been given 2 collection containers, one for recyclables and one for trash. This is the point where they separate the trash from the recyclables. Furthermore, they are using colored bags. The clear plastic bags are for recyclables and the black bags are for trash.

Question 2: Can I bring my household recyclables to campus since I work here?

Please do not bring your household items to campus for recycling. We must pay for our items to be picked up, and this would cause our cost to increase. It will also place an extra work on our custodial department, which is already short staffed. If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to contact us.
