Master of Arts in Teaching Program
(Print Version)

The Masters of Arts in Teaching graduate program leads to a master's degree and a teaching certificate in Secondary English (grades 6-12). The MAT is currently a five-semester program enrolling in both spring and summer semesters.

Admission to the program requires a bachelor's degree in English or a closely related field. Applicants with bachelor's degrees in non-English-related fields must show evidence of specific English and literature coursework (see below). Prospective students may need to complete specific prerequisite courses before applying to the program.

Please see the MAT English program wiki for detailed information about programs of study, course registration, and field experiences.

Please contact English education graduate coordinator Dr. Darren Crovitz with any additional questions you may have about the program.
