Four-Year Degree Program and Degree Checklist
Below is a sample
program provided to give you an idea about how to structure
your coursework. The premise guiding this proposed sequence
is that you will take a full-load each fall and spring and
not take any courses during the summer. Your individual
program may differ greatly based on how many courses you plan
to take each semester, your foreign language study background,
and numerous other issues, so please contact Dr. Michael Tierce
(770.423.6612 or mtierce@kennesaw.edu)
if you have questions about your specific program.

Freshmen are strongly encouraged to complete Engl 1101
their first semester, Engl 1102 their second semester,
and Engl 2110 their third semester. Engl 2110
is the prerequisite for all required English courses
beyond the general education level, so it is imperative
to take it as soon as possible.
Once
Engl 2110 has been completed, English majors are encouraged
to take Engl 2145 as soon as possible. This is
our gateway or introduction to the major course.
Because
the English degree is a BA, students are required to
take a foreign language through the 2002 level. The
vast majority of our majors have to begin their language
study at the 1001 level, which means they need four
semesters to get to 2002. We therefore recommend
that they begin their language study no later than their
third semester at KSU.
