The program has been designed for a variety of graduate students, including teachers, aspiring authors, communication specialists, editors, publishers and others. The MAPW offers:

  • The choice of a specialization and minor from three areas - applied writing, creative writing, or composition and rhetoric;
     
     
  • The opportunity to work with writers and writing educators in the Kennesaw Mountain National Writing Project;
     
  • Challenging opportunities for internships at Kennesaw State and throughout metro Atlanta;
     
  • Classes scheduled one night a week for 18 weeks from 6:30p.m.-9:15p.m. for Fall and Spring semesters. Summer semester classes are scheduled one night a week for an eight week period from 6:00p.m.-11:00p.m.;

  • Graduate Research Assistantships available Fall and Spring semesters at www.kennesaw.edu/graduate/research.html which include tuition waivers and stipends. GRA positions are only open to the Master's students and the graduate certificate students are not eligible.
