The Convocation Center

 

 

Thank you for your interest in Kennesaw State University’s Convocation Center. Before you complete a space request form, please take a moment to read the following guidelines:

 

1. The Convocation Center Arena is not available for events during volleyball & basketball seasons (which includes pre-season and post-season conditioning). It normally runs from August 1st – March 31st each year.
2. The arena does not come pre-set. All items for an event must be rented.
3. The arena basketball floor must be covered for all events (Plant Operations require a minimum of 6 hours to cover the floor and 6 hours to remove the coverings ).
4. Requests for the Convocation Center Arena Floor should be made three months to six months in advance of the desired event date.
5. The two Activity Wings that flank the arena floor must be reserved separately from the arena. These Activity Wings are used as classroom space during the academic semesters. Any requests to use these Activity Wings that impact KSU academic program delivery will be subject to approval. See Departmental Guidelines for Activity Wing usage.
6. All Convocation Center classrooms are used for KSU academic program delivery. Requests where disruption of academic programs would occur will be subject to approval. See Departmental Guidelines for Classroom usage.

KSU Internal Requests follow this process:

1. The Convocation Center Request Form is completed and submitted to University Events (UE).
2. UE and the Campus Events Planning Committee (CEPC) will evaluate the request to check for scheduling conflicts and feasibility.
3. The request may be denied based on space availability and/or other event conflicts. You will receive an explanation as to why your request cannot be accommodated. 
   *Note: Please allow for 2-3 week processing time.
4. If there are not any scheduling conflicts, a copy of the request along with the CEPC’s recommendations (which can include an estimate of potential expenses associated with hosting the event) will be sent to your VP, Dean or sponsoring organization.
5. You will be notified by UE when the request is approved.
