The EXCEL Leadership Program is an extraordinary opportunity for faculty and staff to come together to learn in a relaxed environment leadership skills as well as build long-lasting relationships with other KSU colleagues.

The EXCEL Leadership Program is held during Maymester. The program’s purpose is to give faculty and staff the opportunity to learn, as a cohesive group, various facets of leadership skills. The program will address appraisal of the participants’ leadership style, engage in discussions on ethical leadership challenges, give participants the opportunity to have dialog with KSU leaders as well as connect leadership roles with the external community. Program components range from interactive classroom sessions to field trips and social activities. Each day will focus on specific learning aspects such as: building relationships, whether with oneself or with others; acknowledging community and campus involvement; and will expand your knowledge of KSU's organizational structure, strategic goals, and mission while addressing issues of ethical leadership within our own university, in our surrounding community, and on a global perspective in our society. The program is a rewarding experience that will enrich your career at KSU in many ways. It will give each participant a sense of value to their leadership roles on campus and how everyone, regardless of your specific role, is a major factor in the success of Kennesaw State University.

Through a formal application and selection process, the selection of the EXCEL class will consist of 20 participants (10 faculty and 10 staff.) All full-time employees of the university who have been employed a minimum of six months are encouraged to apply for this program.
