Lecturer of Foreign Language Education
Position  Qualifications/ Responsibilities:
Kennesaw State University, the third-largest university in the University System of Georgia, is a comprehensive, residential institution with a growing student population approaching 20‚000 from 132 countries. KSU is located in Metro Atlanta and offers easy access to the outstanding cultural, educational and recreational resources of the region. The Department of Foreign Languages is now accepting applications for one nine-month, non-tenure track, annually renewable lecturer position in Foreign Language Education (FLED). A Master’s degree in FLED, linguistics or education with a foreign language concentration, and a strong background in teaching one of the languages offered in the Department are preferred. Equivalent academic credentials in combination with teaching/supervision experience considered. Candidates must meet SACS requirement of 18 graduate hours in the teaching field. Candidates must have at least advanced-mid proficiency in the second language and native or near native fluency in English. Highly desired: a record of successful teaching experience; experience supervising student teachers. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work effectively as a team member within the DFL. Course load is 4/5 for the year, and duties may include teaching lower level language courses, supervising students in field experiences or student teaching, and assisting with student advising,. Some local travel is required to supervise student teachers
