Position Title:
Assistant/Associate Professor of Health, Physical Education, and Sport Science
Position  Qualifications/ Responsibilities:

Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate professor with an exercise and health science (epidemiology) emphasis in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Sport Science. The Department offers a M.S. degree in Applied Exercise and Health Science, and three undergraduate degree programs in Exercise and Health Science, Health and Physical Education (P-12 Teacher Education), and Sport Management. The Department supports the University with a required general education core course and provides an array of physical activity classes. This expanding Department of 28 faculty will have additional laboratory, classroom, and office space in a new 200,000 square foot, state-of-the-art Health Sciences building in 2010.

 Candidates must have an earned doctorate in health education/health promotion, exercise science, or a related field with a focus in epidemiology. Instructional responsibilities will be primarily in the graduate and undergraduate Exercise and Health Science programs. Candidates must have the ability to teach graduate level Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Research Methods. Additional instructional responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses supporting other HPS degree programs such as Personal Health Behaviors, Contemporary Health Issues, Health Promotion and Program Planning, and Measurement and Evaluation. The successful candidate must demonstrate evidence of high quality teaching effectiveness, and a clearly defined research program including collaborative activities. Priority will be given to candidates who provide evidence of the ability to obtain external funding support. Candidates are expected to engage in departmental, college, university, and professional service activities. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
