Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor position in Chinese in the Department of Foreign Languages, beginning August 2010. An earned doctorate in Chinese linguistics or associated field is required as well as native or near-native proficiency in Chinese and English. Highly desirable: a record of successful teaching experience and direct experience studying or working in China. Preference given to candidates with a preparation in Chinese pedagogy and/or teaching Chinese as a second/foreign language. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work effectively as a team member within the Department of Foreign Languages, be committed to teaching Chinese at all levels and to supervising internships and/or facilitating extra-curricular activities. Commitment to excellence in teaching, complemented by strong scholarship and engagement, is expected of all faculty members in KSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences. |
