Position Title:
Assistant Professor with a specialization in Asian Studies
Position  Qualifications/ Responsibilities:

The Asian Studies Program and College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Kennesaw State University invite applications for the jointly appointed position of Assistant Professor, specializing in Asian Studies. Preference will be given to candidates with an interdisciplinary approach to their research and who offer a promising record of scholarly publication and teaching. This is a nine-month, tenure-track position, starting August 2010.

Areas of responsibility include coordinating the comprehensive ASIA 3001 “Understanding Asia” course; teaching courses in both the candidate’s home department and in the Asian Studies Program; advising Asian Studies minor students; and promoting the Asian Studies Program.  Service to the university or in the community is expected and highly valued. Applicants are encouraged from any discipline usually found in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Applicants may be ABD, but are expected to have a Ph.D. in hand by the start of the Fall semester, in August 2010.
