Position Title:
Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice or Political Science
Position  Qualifications/ Responsibilities:
Kennesaw State University, a growing university located in a beautiful suburban setting north of Atlanta, is accepting applications for a joint/dual appointment in the Departments of Sociology & Criminal Justice and Political Science & International Affairs as Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice or Assistant Professor of Political Science to begin August 2010. 

While specialization is open, the candidate must be able to teach Criminal Justice courses in Criminal Procedure, Ethics or Criminal Investigation, as well as Political Science courses in Legal Theory or Legal Philosophy.  Ability to teach American Legal System and Constitutional Law is a plus. A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Political Science, or a closely-related social science field is required.  An outstanding A.B.D may be considered if candidate has a solid record of academic scholarly research and a solid record of excellence in teaching at the university level.  Completion of Ph.D. is, however, expected at the time of appointment.  Supervision of student internships and advising is required.  The successful candidate also must be available to teach some night and/or weekend classes.

Commitment to excellence in teaching, complemented by strong scholarship and engagement, is expected of all faculty members in KSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
