The College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a 12-month, tenure-track faculty position and Director of its Center for the Study of the Civil War Era. The Center, housed in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, is a leading center for scholarship, teaching, programs and outreach regarding the civil war era, broadly defined.

The new director will be charged with building on the strong base of Civil War era-related programs and partnerships with area universities and Colleges, cultural institutions, the KSU community and P-12 educators.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in History, American Studies, English or a related field, a record of excellence in scholarship and teaching commensurate with appointment as an Associate or Full Professor. Administrative and fundraising experience is preferred.

The appointee’s tenure home will reside in the department most closely related to her or his intellectual interests.
