Position Title:
Lecturer Director of ESL Study Center
Position  Qualifications/ Responsibilities:

The Department of University Studies in University College, Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, lecturer  position serving as Director of the ESL Study Center and teaching related courses as needed.

Candidates must have appropriate graduate coursework in English as Second language instruction and at least a Master’s Degree in a related field.  The candidate should have a demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness, involvement in related professional activities and organizations and presentations at academic conferences. Of particular importance is experience and expertise in tutoring second-language and international students.  Also, a background and experience in related activities such as English as a second language committee work and Conversation Partner program management and organization would be assets.  The candidate may be required to teach international sections of developmental English, English Composition I and English Composition II and tutor international students in Georgia Regents’ test preparation.  The candidate will act as a general education academic advisor to international students and will require proficiency on BANNER.  This individual will coordinate sessions and proctor administration of the Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency (MTELP) as well as the Alternative (ESL) Regents’ tests.  The candidate will also conduct Regents’ test preparation workshops for international students.
