Kennesaw State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communication with a focus on Journalism and Citizen Media (JCM). Qualifications include an earned doctorate degree in journalism, communication, mass communication or related field, preferably completed by July 2011. ABDs will be considered. Professional newsroom experience and familiarity with digital editing software is desired. The ideal candidate would have experience using social media. Responsibilities include teaching required journalism and citizen media courses, contributing to the teaching of other communication courses, performing service duties, and maintaining scholarly productivity. Core JCM courses include: News Reporting and Writing, Advanced Media Writing, Interviewing, and the JCM capstone course. Excellence in teaching and mentoring students is expected. |
