Position  Qualifications/ Responsibilities:

Kennesaw State University (KSU) is a SACS accredited Level VI institution and is among the largest campuses in the University System of Georgia. KSU has more than 24,000 students including more than 1,700 from 136 countries, pursuing degree programs at the baccalaureate, master, and doctoral levels through seven colleges. The university’s 328-acre campus is considered a metropolitan university and is located approximately 20 miles northwest of Atlanta in Kennesaw, Georgia, which has been recognized on Money magazine’s “Best Places to Live” and “Best Places to Retire” lists.

Position Description
This is a new position, in the Office of Institutional Accreditation & Compliance, serving as the chief associate of and reporting to KSU's SACS Liaison & Compliance Officer, Dr. Leigh Funk, who reports to the University's President. This new office is currently making preparations for submission of KSU's Fifth-Year Interim Report  to SACS in March 2013 and strengthening institutional processes for continued compliance with all dimensions of Institutional effectiveness (IE). The Director will play a vital leadership role in coordinating and facilitating KSU's campus-wide IE assessment and improvement processes to ensure compliance with ever-changing SACS accreditation requirements involving IE, especially in preparation for KSU's reaffirmation reviews in 2016-17. The Director of Institutional Effectiveness will be a 12-month administrative faculty position with a non tenure-track academic rank.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant and recent full-time experience in a regionally accredited university.
  • Experience in institutional effectiveness, assessment and compliance reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, collaborative, and persuasive writing skills.
  • Ability to take initiative to solve compliance problems.
  • Earned master's degree with academic qualifications for appointment as a non-tenure track Lecturer in an appropriate academic department.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Substantial, relevant and recent full-time experience in a SACS accredited university.
  • Proven track record of accomplishments in institutional effectiveness, assessment and SACS compliance reporting.
  • Earned doctorate with academic qualifications for appointment as a non-tenure track Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in an appropriate academic department.
