Position Title:

Assistant Professor of Library Science – Virtual Services Librarian

Position Qualifications – Responsibilities: Twelve-month non-tenure track position responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting the library’s virtual services. Ensures the successful deployment of virtual reference tools, web site, and other social media. The ideal candidate will have a second masters in a related discipline, instructional design experience, proficiency in using relational databases management tools, experience with Voyager ILS, experience with Illiad ILL System, and library public service experience.
Required Education – Experience – Skills (Minimum Qualifications): Masters in Library Science from an ALA Accredited program or international equivalent. Experience with virtual reference services including IM/Chat applications. Experience with Web Page development. Extensive knowledge of HTML and XML. Experience with course management systems.

Departmental/College Overview: The Sturgis Library is undergoing multiple renovations over the next 3-5 years. Currently the library is renovating its 3rd floor and creating a graduate library which should be open October 2012.
