Chair, Department of Economics, Finance and Quantitative Analysis

Position Qualifications – Responsibilities: The Department of Economics, Finance and Quantitative Analysis in the Coles College of Business invites applications for a 12-month, tenure-track administrative faculty position as Department Chair. The Chair of the Economics, Finance and Quantitative Analysis Department is required to facilitate all departmental activities and to provide leadership toward the achievement of excellence in teaching, research, and service activities of the department. The Chair is also required to work closely with other academic department chairs, the Dean of the College, the Senior Vice Provost, the Provost, and other administrative unit directors in achieving the University’s strategic goals.
Required Education – Experience – Skills (Minimum Qualifications): An earned doctorate in Economics, Finance, Quantitative Analysis or closely related area from an accredited institution is required. Candidates must provide evidence of effective teaching and research in the area of Economics, Finance or Quantitative Analysis that merits appointment as a senior associate or full professor with tenure in the Economics, Finance and Quantitative Analysis Department. The Michael J. Coles College of Business has a collegial, flexible, and entrepreneurial environment. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate an ability to perform necessary administrative tasks (which could be demonstrated by professional experience with: leadership in strategic planning; engagement in shared governance activities; budget planning; promotion of faculty scholarship, teaching and service activities; or leadership in promoting the vision and mission of the University, College, and Department).
