Position Title

Assistant Professor of Health Promotion

Position Qualifications – Responsibilities:

The Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2013. The successful candidate will teach courses to support the new health promotion minor as well as the health and physical education program.  The ideal candidate will have experience in worksite and/or community health. A commitment to excellence in teaching, complemented by strong scholarship and service is expected of all faculty members in KSU’s WellStar College of Health and Human Services.

Required Education – Experience – Skills (Minimum Qualifications):
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in health promotion, health education or a related field. An outstanding A.B.D. may be considered if the candidate can provide evidence of scholarship and experience in teaching at the university level. Completion of the doctorate is expected at the time of appointment.

Departmental/College Overview:
The health promotion program will be housed in the newly formed Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education. The Department offers an undergraduate Health and Physical major and Coaching minor. The Department supports the University with a required core course and provides an array of physical activity classes.
