The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia recently released information regarding the Guaranteed Tuition Plan (GTP) for incoming freshmen and currently attending students. The actual article can be located at the following link: http://www.usg.edu/news/2009/041409.phtml

To provide clarification concerning specific questions, please note below:
  1. Students who are currently enrolled in the Board of Regents’ GTP will see no change in their tuition for 2009-2010. Students who remain enrolled after coming off the GTP will pay the fall 2008 rate.
  2. For information regarding the GTP, please note the following link: https://web.kennesaw.edu/registrar/parents/guaranteed_tuition_plan
  3. Fall 2009 freshmen students will pay tuition at the same per-credit-hour rate as charged in 2008-2009 (the expenses tables for 2008-2009 at KSU are located at the following link):https://financialservices.kennesaw.edu/bursar/files/Fall08_Spr09_Rates.pdf
  4. The Board of Regents (BOR) set the full-time tuition rate at 15 credit hours. If a student takes less than 15 hours, the charge will be per credit hour. Once the student takes 15 or more hours, the charge will remain the same – a flat tuition rate.
  5. The U. S. Federal rule pertaining to full-time enrollment of 12 hours will remain. The BOR change will not affect federal rules – it will only impact how tuition is charged. For example, continued insurance coverage for students that typically requires full-time enrollment will not be impacted by this new change made by the BOR.
  6. HOPE Scholarship recipients will not be impacted by this new rate. HOPE pays the tuition cost regardless of enrollment status.
