Students who wish to study foreign languages at Kennesaw State University may take the CAPE Online Placement Exam. This online exam is available in French, German, and Spanish.
The Online Placement Exam is designed to help you determine the first course you should take, based on your ability. This multiple-choice exam presents questions of different ability levels, adapting the next question’s level according to your answers. The number of questions you will be required to complete depends upon your ability to use the language. The duration of the test varies, but it usually takes 15-20 minutes to complete.

Choose the appropriate language from the drop-down menu. After completing the short survey you can begin the exam.
When the online placement exam is complete, you will receive an overall score (points). Please note the RANGE OF SCORES FOR PLACEMENT PURPOSES area and the course level that corresponds to your points. This is the course in which KSU recommends you enroll.
If the recommendation is for the 2001 or 2002 level, you must complete a pre-requisite override request form. This form can be found at the Department of Foreign Languages’ webpage:
