The Foreign Language Resource Center
The Foreign Language Resource Center is an intrinsic part of language
teaching at KSU. Its purpose is to expose students to a more vivid
language experience by listening to different voices and accents
and to foster interpersonal exchange in order to assist students
in acquiring and improving their foreign language skills. This will
increase their ability to understand and recognize many different
cultures and dialects. Learning a language is no longer passive,
and all these skills can be practiced in the Foreign Language Resource
Center.
The Foreign Language Resource Center may be used as:
- A classroom
- A resource center where students have access to diversified learning material that may be used at their own pace
- A facility to access foreign language software
- A learning environment for working with a tutor or with lab materials provided
Instructional Materials Available:
- Foreign language CD's
- Foreign language software
- Foreign language newspapers and magazines
- Foreign language dictionaries and reference materials
- Foreign language videos and DVD's
Objectives:
- To enhance speaking ability
- To enhance comprehension
- To review and to reinforce concepts introduced in class
- To help students who have difficulties understanding foreign
language material
