Part of University College, the Department of First Year Programs represents academic initiatives specifically designed for first-year students that support and promote student success at Kennesaw State University. Programs include the nationally recognized First-Year Seminar program and the large, innovative Learning Communities initiative.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Department of First-Year Programs is an essential part of University College's interdisciplinary, collegial faculty that focuses on student engagement, scholarship of teaching and learning, professional service, and the enhancement of the University's nationally recognized first-year seminar and learning communities for first-year students.
